Abstract: 
This coverage contains polygon attributes for a statewide coverage of New York State Senate Districts as newly defined based on the results of the 2000 Census
Purpose: 
The data can be used for mapping and data analysis. The data set is intended to provide accurate boundaries for New York State Senate Districts and to provide basic population counts from the 2000 Census for those districts. These files are consistent with boundaries defined in legislation (S.6796/A.11014 as amended S.7300/A.11184) to create new legislative boundaries.
