Description:
Abstract: 
A MapInfo for Windows 3.0 region data set of 6 scenic area designations in the Hudson River Valley region of the state. These six scenic areas are designated as Catskill-Olana, Columbia-Greene North, Esopus-Lloyd, Estates District, Hudson Highlands, and Ulster North. These features depict the outlines of the scenic area boundaries along with the unit name designation. Further background information on the selection criteria, boundary definitions and scenic area designation authority for these areas can be found in the Department of State publication entitled SCENIC AREAS OF STATEWIDE SIGNIFICANCE dated July 1993. This publication is available directly from the Department of State.
Purpose: 
Data can be used for mapping and analysis.
Supplemental_Information: 
Original boundaries were created using manual cartography on NYS topo quad bases. Subsequent digitial conversion was performed in 1993 by the NYS Public Service Commission using table digitizing. Final boundaries were evaluated and corrected in 1995 by the Department of State using a combination of table digitizing and re-registered NYS DEC scan quad images to verify boundary positions.
